Board of Directors

Dr Paolo Cornaro is a Swiss national born in 1945, who joined Cornèr Bank in 1969. He was appointed CEO in 1980, and in 2016 he became a member of the Board of Directors, as its Chairman. For many years Dr Paolo Cornaro was a member of the Board of Directors of Visa International (now Visa Inc.) and Visa Europe. He holds a degree and doctorate in economics from the University of Fribourg.

Carlo Donati, a Swiss national born in 1946, spent much of his career at the Swiss food giant Nestlé, where he held a number of important roles in India, Africa and Italy, most recently as Executive Vice President of the Nestlé Group and CEO of Nestlé Waters Worldwide. He has now retired, and is member of a number of boards of administrations. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Fribourg, and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Cornèr Bank Ltd. since 2008.

Luca Allidi is a Swiss national born in 1971. He holds a law degree from the University of Berne, and has practised as an attorney-at-law in Ascona since 2001. Luca Allidi joined the Board of Directors of Cornèr Bank Ltd. in 2023.

Dr Alessandro Bizzozero is a Swiss national born in 1961. After obtaining a doctorate in law from the University of Fribourg in 1992, he held a succession of important positions in the banking sector. For more than a decade he worked with the Swiss Federal Banking Commission (SFBC, now FINMA); he then led the Swiss regulatory services department of an international audit and consulting firm, and from 2004 to 2014 he was chief compliance officer of a leading banking group based in Geneva. He is currently Managing Partner of BRP Bizzozero & Partners SA, a company specialising in regulatory advice. Dr Alessandro Bizzozero became a member of the Board of Directors in 2014.

Pierpaolo Caldelari is a Swiss national born in 1954. He holds a law degree from the University of Berne, and has practised as an attorney-at-law and notary in Lugano since 1981. He joined the Board of Directors of Cornèr Bank Ltd. in 2019.

Francesca Folonari, an Italian national born in 1962, holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and commerce and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. She has extensive experience in the finance sector in Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom, and since 2010 has been actively involved in managing a family winery business. She joined the Board of Directors of Cornèr Bank Ltd. in 2018.

Alberto Petruzzella is a Swiss national born in 1967. After obtaining a law degree from the University of Lausanne, he held a number of important roles in the banking sector. Much of his career was spent working with UBS and Credit Suisse in Ticino, always in executive positions. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Cornèr Bank Ltd. Since 2017, and is Chairperson of the Ticino Banking Association (ABT).

Mrs Claudia Viscardi Galli is a Swiss citizen born in 1976. She obtained a degree in law from the University of Neuchâtel in 2002 and a Master in Tax Law in 2019. She has been practising as a lawyer since 2005, to which she added the profession of notary in 2015. Mrs Claudia Viscardi Galli joined the Board of Cornèr Bank Ltd. in 2022.
